Theresa Frazer

I began my love affair with painting while in college but understood that realistically, the life of an independent artist was not open to me. Since retiring from a career as a school psychologist I have had the great pleasure of fully immersing myself in my art, taking advantage of years of studying with artists including Molly Hashimoto, Carlos San Millan, Ingrid Christiansen, and Pam Ingalls. Additionally, I hold two certificates in painting and portraiture from the University of Washington, where my teachers included Linda Thomas, Patrick LoCicero, and Norman Lundin.

For the past fifteen years I have found my painting home with the Brig Studio Artists. Through this community I have continually expanded my skill and artistry, using oils as my major medium. Most recently, I have enjoyed the results and process of mixing oil paint and cold wax.

If you look at my portfolio of paintings, you will see a range of realist painting topics, with some landscapes and seascapes, and many interior scenes. Honestly, I don't go into bars as much as you might think... but I do enjoy depicting the large number of reflections found in pubs and restaurants, as well as illustrating the way that we as humans interact with each other, and the way in which we choose to be solitary.
